Tell Us How You Really Feel, Nigel

Mar 30, 2009 23:41

Whilst browsing TWoP I read a comment in which a poster quoted Nigel referring to the fact that the judges are oblivious to the in-house antics (call me paranoid but I don’t buy that at all. Tyra at least must know) and also a little quip about Celia’s remarks during the last judging.

From the E! News website:

Debbie in Raleigh, N.C.: What's with the judges keeping Sandra around on America's Next Top Model? Don't they see she's a total bitch?

"No, we don't know any of the behind-the-scenes stuff," Nigel Barker tells us. So don't expect Sandra to take a chill pill anytime soon. What really had the judges upset, though, was Celia's unexpected outburst at the last judging panel, "It's like at a job saying, 'Don't book her, she's going to be a bitch when you hire her.' We don't like that."

EDIT: There have been a few posters who have clarified what Nigel may have actually meant when he said "bitch," that he wasn't calling Celia that or even calling her bitchy but that her behavior could be likened to that of a girl going on a casting and speaking ill of another model going out for the same job. This is my semi-tweaked response to one of the helpful commenters (I'm just pasting it here because this is how I feel in regards to the new light shed on Nigel's remark):

After re-reading the quote I can see what you're saying except that it seems really random of Nigel to compare what Celia told Tyra to calling another model "a bitch." So if that is what he meant I still don't understand why he would have used that phrase. It would have made more sense even if he had said "It's like at a job one model saying about another model going out for the same job, 'Don't book her, she's going to flake out when you hire her.' We don't like that." I definitely think I could have misread this but I also think Nigel's example wasn't the best.
