Jaslene signs on as spokeswoman for 'Love is not Abuse'
Jaslene has signed up to help Liz Claiborne fight domestic violence by acting as spokeswoman for their 'Love is not Abuse' campaign. The campaign focuses on combating violence against woman, but appears to have a special focus on educating teenage women about dating abuse.
In the article she partly cites her role as a mentor to her high school friends as inspiration, however, she does not mention her own abusive relationship she had with an ex-bf as stated in her Seventeen interview. I found that to be interesting...maybe she wants to not have to rehash her own past, but on the other hand, I think given her own young age and how she overcame violence herself, talking about it in conjunction with this gig would have a strong impact on the teen age girls they are focusing on. Perhaps she will when she is more involved in the cause?
