I had wondered how I'd get this back, but... it was on the table when I woke up.

[Silence reigns for a few moments. When Souji speaks up, however, he does so with a small smile. It's clearly a taut little thing, but it remains earnest, and the gratitude in it is genuine.]I would like to thank everyone who helped bring me back. Yosuke told me it ( Read more... )

Viola.

[Unseen, something a little like a wince flickers on his face for a moment. He goes on calmly however, of course, undeterred.]

When I was on my way to meet Suzaku for patrols, I - found a banshee at the well. She sang to me - an old folk ballad from a region of my world. I was on my way home after my patrol, and then I felt... a compulsion to go to the woods, though. I can't remember why, exactly, and it wasn't something I could deny.

When I got there, I was so tired, so leaden - I lay down.

And then, when I woke... I was in their world. Her world.

[He goes quiet for a few long moments. The Fae Queen has a power that seeps in and takes hold, and even this boy is not immune to it. Gathering his thoughts is more strenuous than it should be.]I had no idea how long I was there for, but I was kept as a knight. One day she let me come into Demeleier - I didn't know why, exactly, but I knew I had to come here. That was when I met Yosuke ( ... )

What would happen. She knew the fae would take me, and it was because of her that I - knew how to get back.

I didn't understand at the time.

I'm not sure. But I am sure that we'd be mistaken to claim that all the faeries were bad, or wanted to harm us.

The last time we heard from her, she was howling outside the window of Schneizel, Lloyd, and Kanon. The next night, a woman arrived in Demeleier who was badly wounded, it looked like - but it seemed like she and Schneizel know each other.

When I encountered her, it was clear she knew what was going to happen - now I think about it, she did look more desperate when I wasn't understanding.

[He takes a breath.]

I don't know a great deal of this kind of folklore, but I do remember that some faeries are bad, some are just tricky or mischievous, and some are genuinely good or kind, unless wronged.

To presume that all of them are 'good', or all of them are 'bad'... that's a little like saying the same of humans. It's just inaccurate.

[Thankfully, the audio option does not pick up his humourless smile at the bad apples thing. His thoughts exactly. He speaks as neutrally as he usually does.]

No, I wouldn't trust them. And I think the majority here are malevolent in some fashion. But her... I don't think she means any harm.

It crossed my mind, but I'm not sure that she'd be capable, even if she wanted to.

I wonder if we could find her, before she had something to warn us about.
