[The inn is seldom, if ever, empty. There are always people there, and currently Souji, Yosuke, and Aaron are in the kitchen, preparing food. Or Souji and Aaron are, anyway. Yosuke’s there to taste-test, whine about Mystery Food X, and probably bitch a bit, which is fine by the other two, provided he keeps up the tasting. Just because they’re out in the sticks doesn’t mean they’re not making good stuff.
According to Yosuke anyway, since Souji's stomach of steel might mean he's not the best of judges. But that's digressing.
He's glad to be doing something menial and mundane - the repetition of every action is therapeutic, distracting from the encroaching unease he's feeling. That's not something he wants to draw attention to - he figures it's the culmination of the place itself, because even with the apparent safety of the inn, you never quite know what's going to happen, and now there's the threat of apparently powerful fae (the possibility of it is not something he's willing to dismiss). His sword remains fairly close to hand though, even if having it around and exposed is still a bit weird for him.
