I almost went to a Paul Mitchell school and it was very very nice/professional. Every school is going to the girls that realize the hard way hair isn't their thing. (I think you got her, she should know to be professional!) I know at my school there are like two girls I wouldn't let touch my hair if they paid me. I'd go back and ask for a student that's been on the floor longer that could finish up the right side!
i feel like beauty schools are really hit or miss. i go to the aveda institute in ann arbor because it's cheap and for the most part the girls do a good job, but sometimes they just don't really do what i ask. one time i asked for them to cut my hair so that it was at my shoulders. but she only cut off like 2 inches and it ended up being way past my shoulders. irritating, but i would have felt bad making her go back and do it over again.
yea, like I wasnt expecting the most amazing haircut in the entire planet but come onnnn. What irked me the most is just that the teacher, who had supposedly been a professional for like 20 years is who cut my hair and it is still awful!
I've never been to a Paul Mitchell school; but I've been to various schools several times, and have never had a good haircut. No matter if I explain exactly what I want, or bring in pictures. Once I asked them to dye it back to my regular color, and despite the fact that I had three inches of roots for them to refer to, it was not even close.
sounds like the student should've been a lot more professional but i'm wondering why you didn't say anything at the time? yes, it wasn't what you wanted and they had the pictures, but you should've spoken up and said something. it's their job to give you the cut you want, and while they SHOULD do it right the first time, if they don't it's your responsibility to say, "i'm sorry, this isn't quite what i wanted. can you fix it, please?"
Oh I agree totally...I did speak up about a couple of things, but I was in the salon for 2 hours. I was so antsy that I myself was starting to loose my politeness and I didn't want to be that person haha
I asked about why they weren't cutting the right side of my hair and the Teacher went on a 3 minute speel about how this is how the cut is done and that they would do the layering later etc
normally, i can voice my opinion no matter the situation, but i find in a hair salon it is SO HARD to say that that's not what i wanted. i have no idea why.

it sucks when you can't rely on the beauty school because they're SUCH a good deal.
