Well.
I had an improv show a little while ago -
The director is.. questionable.. and he gave us an outline for the show that seemed *so* unfunny and just kind of.. .. .. lame. When I went to a rehearsal, there were a couple people who kind of outrank him in the staircase hierarchy, and they were like "no. we're not doing that. we're doing it like this." and he was all "yeah.. no.. yeah of course.. cuz I was just.. I mean.. no, yeah, sure." so he got way outvoted. So we do the show, and it was this survivor-style christmas thing where we all played elves and were trying to win a spot on Santa's sleigh. We had a noise-o-meter to decide who gets immunity, etc. Anyway. At the end of the show, the director had wanted to do a stupid gamey scene, and none of us thought it was a good idea but we agreed that if the final scene wasn't great, we'd do another after all the voting and stuff. The show went pretty well, and then end scene was definitely good - it got a big laugh, and ended at the perfect time. We were doing all the voting and announcing who won, etc., when the director comes out and starts talking to the audience about how the noise-o-meter didn't measure the applause correctly for a couple of scenes, and some people got booted off before they should have so we're going to have (wait for it..) One More Scene to see which one of them is funnier!! The whole cast was like "whhhaaaaaaaaattttt??" secretly, but we went along with it, and the two people, Mike and Leslie, took the stage to do their scene. Leslie started skipping and singing to herself, and Mike ducked behind a wing, and then came out with.. a flower.. .. .. and.. a small box... .. and we're all freaking out... and then he proposed to her on stage and her parents and friends were in the audience, and no one had *any idea* it was going to happen except Mike and the director.. it was the best thing!
Also.
I've been having trouble finding the Christmas spirit. Usually I'm brimming with it, but this year not so much. I almost don't feel like it even is close to christmas. So I felt it was important to decorate the apartment in the hope that it would somehow motivate me to feel more christmassy.
I have spent a total of about 6 hours making paper chains over the last couple days. The apartment is finally beginning to look like Christmas.
Pictures!!
Christmas!
