The bar was oddly quiet for a Saturday night but it didn’t stop the young man from entering. His short dark brown hair was wet from the rain outside, his clothes were slightly drenched. The barman acknowledged him, putting the bottle of scotch on the counter with a tumbler since the young man was a regular here.
He sat down and poured the scotch in the glass. Normally he would have a drinking partner but she was on a date with a sexy brunette with quite firm breasts. He was glad for her; she always liked them intelligent and real. Tonight he felt lonely since joining the Time Agency. He didn’t have many friends because most of the agents were snobs. Coming from Boeshane Peninsula only brought prejudice and teasing.
“Ah you must be Boeshane,” A voice said next to him. The young man looked over to see a slightly older man with light brown hair, wearing a black leather jacket over a black t-shirt and jeans. He recognised the man from seeing him around the agency, “Mind if I join you?”
Boeshane nodded, “Please do,” before turning his head to the barman, “Another glass for my friend here.”
The older man sat down and couldn’t help looking over the man next to him. Gorgeous with wet dark brown hair, dressed in a brown vest over a white t-shirt and black trousers slightly drenched. He had seen the young man around the agency talking to some pretty redhead.
“So gorgeous do you always travel in the rain?” He asked while Boeshane poured him a scotch.
“Yes as my apartment isn’t too far away,” Boeshane explained with a slight smile, “I don’t live at the agency.”
The man nodded and picked up his glass, “Well do you always drink alone?” He asked again a bit concerned.
“No, I have a drinking partner but she’s out on a date.”
The man smiled, “Oh dear did she turn you down?”
“No, she prefers them female,” Boeshane told him, “Strangely I don’t see her that way as she’s only a friend.”
“Shame since you’re gorgeous,” The man replied with a seductive grin, “I would have you in a second.”
“Really, even without giving me your name?” Boeshane retorted with a laugh.
“Of course,” The man replied widening his grin.
“Oh please I’ve heard that before,” Boeshane said and put down his glass, “Still names don’t really interest me.”
“Ah so are you interesting in having a little fun then gorgeous?”
Boeshane looked at his drinking partner. He had already noticed that the man was drop dead sexy and was quite interested but he had a promise to keep. He took out his wallet and put a credit down on the counter.
“Sorry I have a friend who probably needs a shoulder to cry on,” He replied with a smile, “I could manage a raincheck?”
“No you’ve had your chance, I only pick up once!”
Boeshane shrugged and exited into the pouring rain.
Three weeks later Boeshane met up with the man. This time though it was at the Time Agency in the meeting room. The head agent introduced them, saying that they would be partners for now on. Quietly though they wanted someone to control ‘John’ since he had gone through three partners in four months and the agency was getting quite sick and tired of dealing with him.
“How did it go?” Boeshane’s friend Scarlett asked while they stood in cafeteria queue.
“Quite good, got paired up with John,” He replied picking up a sandwich. Scarlett nodded and put her head down.
“Well make sure you’re a keeper,” She told him with a smile, “He doesn’t tend to keep his partners.”
“Gets sick of them does he?” He asked with a laugh.
“Well yes but only after having sex with them,” Scarlett replied with a smile, “After that they seem boring to him.”
He nodded and looked around, spotting John chatting up a pretty blonde over near the window. He had been thinking about him since their encounter at the bar. That night he didn’t show his flirty side because the depression had decided to kick in. Today though he felt happier, he turned to Scarlett.
“So this brunette of yours, is she interested in a threesome?” He asked raising a suggestive eyebrow. Scarlett rolled her eyes.
“Actually she hates you, apparently you remind her of an ex-lover.”
“And who would that be?” Scarlett pointed over to where John was standing, flirting with the pretty blonde, “You were looking at him.”
The rain was pouring down while Boeshane stood outside the bar keeping an eye out for John. He began to question why he had said yes to John. Maybe it was the temptation of making up for their last encounter? He wasn’t sure. Scarlett encouraged him to go by giving him a lecture about the important of getting to know your partner. To be honest he was nervous but only because he wanted to be a keeper.
He saw a familiar figure strut up the street sporting the black leather jacket like John would at the agency. The other agents would stop to gawp before going back to minding their business. He had learnt very quickly that John was the subject of gossip around the cafeteria.
“Hello beautiful,” He slipped out confidently as John stopped beside him.
“Well hello to you too gorgeous,” John greeted back looking him over, “You look good enough to eat.” He added before pushing Boeshane up against the wall.
Boeshane closed his eyes when he felt John’s tongue enter his mouth, conquering the insecurities that lay inside. He felt like his lungs were going to explode as their mouths started to fight for control. The kiss seemed to last forever until he pushed John back to gain his breath.
“Do you want a drink?” John asked with a grin.
“I thought you would never ask,” Boeshane replied with a smile.
It was only the beginning.
