I looked up at the ceiling of the hub, watching as Myfanwy flew around the rift happily like she always had. It would take me back five years ago to the night when I had first her in that abandoned warehouse, when I had helped Ianto Jones....
Images filled with sleep and joy ran through my head sending me through time and space. The hub was now three thousand miles away and I was lying in the arms of that extraordinary Welshman who had been my lover and friend.
He had died a year ago tonight.
But I wasn’t ready yet to move on.
“Jack is everything alright?” Gwen asked from her workstation.
“Yes, sorry I was miles away, shouldn’t you be at home?” I asked looking at her with those stern blue eyes.
“Um you told me to stay behind, to help Martha with.....” Gwen answered but my mind was now else where as my eyes were back on Myfanwy.
This time I felt his skin against my fingers, his lips softly touching mine as I closed my eyes. He was now right in front of me, rubbing the back of my neck with his fingers sending shivers down my spine. I wanted to turn back time but I couldn’t. He was gone like all the others that I had loved in the past. He was now just another memory in a long line of flings.
But to me he was something special.
