1. Recently I watched S2 of True Blood and really enjoyed it. This show is very bizarre and the series finale was no exception, being very fucked up and awesome. I really like Sookie and Bill's relationship which is so much better than Twilight. The whole show is so much better than Twilight. It will be awhile before I'll be able to see S3 but I know that it will be worth that wait.
2. I've also watched some Classic Doctor Who which my sort of boyfriend gave to me. He like me is a Doctor Who fan but he really wants me to get into the Classic eps so to be a true fan. A few weeks ago we went to a friend's place to catch up and watch Doctor Who with her granddaughter who had come to visit. The story we watched was the Genesis of The Daleks from 1975, with Tom Baker as the Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan as the companions. It's also the first episode where the Daleks' creator Davros was introduced.
The classic eps I watched these last few days were An Unearthly Child (1963), Terror of the Autons (1971) and Robot (1974-5). I also watched a movie called Daleks: 2150 AD from 1966, which had Peter Cushing as the Doctor and Bernard Cribbins as a companion called Tom Campbell. It's based on the television episode The Dalek Invasion on Earth.
3. I love it when Doctor Who fans write sketches taking the piss out of their favourite show. It shows that they care and willing to make fun. The Unearthly Child DVD comes with some comedy sketches about what happened behind the scenes in 1963, what took place at the meeting between Sydney Newman and the BBC, fans in general and a short Doctor Who ep. Nicholas Briggs, Mark Gattis and David Walliums all appeared.
At the Doctor Who night, Aidan treated us to The Curse of Fatal Death, a Comic relief special written by Steven Moffat, the current lead writer, in 1999. It starred Rowan Atkinson as the Doctor and Jonathan Pryce as the Master. Actually the Doctor ended up regenerating four times and became: Richard E Grant, Hugh Grant, Jim Broadbent and finally Joanna Lumbley. It was of course very funny.
4. I haven't been writing and don't really plan to.
