Round 1 is finally over. Some of the non-nominated games kept on winning, whereas Diablo fell to Pokemon Red/Blue. Earthbound and Mortal Kombat II won their respective tiebreakers. For Round 2, the matchups continue to be chosen at random.

Voting for Round 2 ends on Sunday, March 18, at midnight, EST.

I know there's a combo Tetris/Dr. Mario SNES game, so I guess they did them individually first.

I guess my point was that I'm bitching about an awesome game getting trounced by a game that wasn't that innovative or original, just an amped-up version of the first Tetris. Stupid tournaments!

Which is why I'm not a big fan of separating nominees by platform. There is no marked difference between any version of Tetris, so it basically gets multiple chances to win simply because different people owned different systems growing up.

I'd have voted for The New Tetris for the N64 because that was an awesomely fun game and it was different enough from the original that it seemed like a brand new game. Of all the people voting for Tetris on the SNES, are they voting because they played it on the SNES, or are they just voting for the Tetris name? Don't get me wrong, I love the Tetris, but Dragon Warrior was the first real game I ever played and it was all sorts of awesome. I'd like to play it on one of those emulating systems but those usually don't allow saving. :(

Well, I doubt many people voting for this Tetris would have voted for Dragon Warrior anyway. It was a great game, but not one that everyone played.

We need to save Dragon Warrior. Tetris is nominated for every system. Come on people take on for the team and let Tetris(SNES) go away. Dragon Warrior needs you.

There are always exceptions to rules. There aren't many versions of Tetris that are different, if any, but I would say there are games on different platforms that are different.
