Top Five Books Without Which I'd Die

Pretty extreme claim, eh? :-)

Excuse the overabundance of clichés. :-)

You can always do a top 10, 15, 20, etc. if need be. A list like this will probably always be changing (it would for me).

Yes, mine has changed a bit -- like I said, ALBIL was never on it before -- but it shouldn't change THAT much. I like to think of a list like this as a bit more of a definite thing, you know? You don't just suddenly wake up one day and decide you couldn't live without so-and-so piece of literature, you know?

*shrugs*

But yeah, I probably will do a top 10, top 15, etc... I'd also like to do one that includes things that aren't books, like movies (LABYRINTH would be on the list, as would CLUELESS) and TV shows (SEX AND THE CITY), so... we'll see.

This is a great idea for a list and I just might have to steal...er, respectfully copy...the idea.

I am ashamed to admit I have only read 1 of the books on your list, though I did pick up ALBIL after your last review...but my pile of books I need to get to is a bit high at the moment.

I could not survive without Plath. There is a bit of irony in that statement, isn't there? But it's so true.

Oh! That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that someone actually got a copy of a book based on my review. Thanks. :-)

I must know, which book on my list have you read? (And I must tell you, you ought to read them all!)

And yes, it killed me (har har, the irony never stops!) not to include Path on that list, both her complete poems and THE BELL JAR, but... those other five books are just SO powerful for me... *shrugs*

Maybe one day I'll make a Top 10 or a Top 15...

And imitation is the highest form of flattery, so respectfully-copy away!
