I'm pretty much just doing this so that we have a Top Five on the board. When the front page gets too many reviews on it, it calls into question why we call this place Top Five Reviews. Sadly, over the past decade, Kevin Costner has become somewhat of a joke, becoming synonymous with box office flop. But he has managed to make some pretty good films. Thankfully, I've seen more of his good ones then bad ones. Notable Costner flicks I've missed include Open Range, Dragonfly, 3000 Miles To Graceland, Thirteen Days, Message In A Bottle, The Postman, Waterworld, Wyatt Earp, A Perfect World, JFK, Revenge, or Silverado. Hey, it's a long career, okay?
5. The Untouchables (this is a decent action movie, and Costner is decent in it. Decent enough to beat out For The Love Of The Game and I'm a sucker for baseball movies)
4. Tin Cup (an enjoyable golf movie. The sports movie is Costner's forte. He should break out another golf movie, or maybe a movie where he's a coach of some sport. I think he's too old for any other sport at this point)
3. Dances With Wolves (he was nominated for Best Actor and won Best Director and Best Picture for this one)
2. Field Of Dreams (ahhh... when he asked his dad for a catch... I need a moment here)
1. Bull Durham (I inverted the top two of my
Top Five Sports movies list because I think Costner is a bit better in this one. Relax alright don't try to strike everyone out. Strikeouts are boring besides that they're fascist. Throw some ground balls it's more democratic)
