I've seen Good Morning Vietnam a few times & until today I thought it was a fantastic movie. Then the reality of it sunk in. It should've been titled "Robin Williams Goes to Vietnam" because that's all it was essentially.
Nah, I'm being too hard on it I think. It's a pretty decent film with Williams basically playing himself as I've seen him in every pseudo-real life moment. Sometimes he's like that annoying uncle of yours that never shuts up, is always full of lame jokes & the like.
It's a formulaic "Rebellion Against Authority" movie if you're wondering, & it does the job nicely. You hate the guys you're supposed to, & sympathize with the characters you're supposed to. However, I have no frame of reference for something that happened about forty years ago, so I'll just go with the assumption that it's accurate & go about my business. 3.5 outta 5.
