life goes on and on...

Yesterday I spent most of the day in the hospital ER.

I had a seizure on my way to work WHILE I WAS DRIVING and--thank God--only ran off the road into the bushes at the intersection of Oakwood and Andrew Jackson.

The first thing I remember is being loaded into an ambulance while someone (I think he was a policeman) was asking me all these questions... I didn't know what year it was, how old I was... I'd forgotten that I graduated and was surprised to find myself in Huntsville.

I called my mother and she, in turn, called her mother (Nana) who showed up in the ER and came back after the finished x-raying my shoulder (which I dislocated) and giving me a CAT scan (for whatever reason). They gave me some morphine for my shoulder. After what seemed like forever, they came in, sedated me, and "relocated" my shoulder (I think that's what they called it). The doctor there referred me to an orthapedic doctor and my appointment is tomorrow. I have to keep my arm in this thing that straps it to my belly directly under my breasts until then.

What a pain in the ass.

Thank God for my Nana and Papa--and thanks to my guardian angel(s) that kept me from getting hurt worse or killed, or injuring anyone else. If I just think how close I was to getting on the interstate... ::shudder::

The main point is, I'm okay. I won't be driving for a while, but I'm okay. sigh...

...

In more cheerful news... My bastard half-sister was born today: Rachael Marie Jacob Shaw (Jacob is my father's girlfriend, Jessica's last name), 8 lbs, 2.5 oz. at 3:23 am. My father is ecstatic.

Looks like Daddy has a new little girl...
