i ended up going to the festival with Dan yesterday, so that was cool. we bought funnel cake and snow cones and spring rolls and went on some rides, the obligatory stuff. after we headed into dc and met Matt at the slam. most of my favorite people didn't slam, but it was pretty solid nonetheless. it started an hour late, so we had a lot of time to talk, and it made me happy. <3 friends.

ended up staying at Dan's place til pretty late, talking about all kinds of things. which is pretty much exactly the way things should be. it feels really good to talk about things seriously with people who know enough and care enough to carry on a conversation.

the small lesson from today is that while regular paint comes off of skin and out of hair relatively easily, primer will never let you go. i'm pretty sure this will still adhered to my skin when i die.

the big lesson from today is that running over a beer bottle someone left in the street will, in fact, give you a flat tire. good thing i know how to change a tire. better thing that my mom is springing for the replacement. and best that it's not that far a walk to pick it up in the morning.

how do you teach someone my age to ride a bike? and don't say training wheels, because i don't have any. hanging on to the back of the bike to keep it balanced is nice in theory, until we remember that i'm not big enough. suggestions, go!
