kelly's eulogy for those who wanted it.

May 12, 2007 11:37

I would like to start by reading kelly's favorite part of my favorite book:
"I felt myself frozen by the sense of something irreparable. And I knew i could not bear the thought of never hearing that laughter anymore. but he replied, My star will be just one of the stars in the heavens. All men have stars. For travelers they are guides. For others they are merely lights in the sky. To scholars they are problems. But in one of the stars I will be living and in one of the stars I will be laughing. You- and only you- will have stars that can laugh! And when your sorrow is comforted (time smooths all sorrows) You will be content that you have known me. You will always be my friend. You will look up at the sky and laugh with me. Your friends will look at you and think that you are crazy. It will be a very shabby trick i have played on you. When you love someone who lives on a star, it is beautiful at night to look at all the sky. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eyes. And no grown up will never understand that this is a matter of so much importance."

Kelly, I have never been good at goodbyes. But you should know that you lit up our home with laughter. You taught all of us (especially wes and I) to love, live life, take risks, and not regret (too much). You sang 'always love, hate will get you every time, always love, just dont wait till the finish line.' I will remember when you decorated our christmas tree and how you loved to eat sunday dinner as a "family."
I know that when I look at the tattoo that I got in your honor, I will not soon forget the lessons that you left us with. I will remember never to be 'too' grown up again!
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL KELLY WALLACE!
i love you.
