you know it!

today i was floored to discover how two simple words can be so freeing. two simple words that made everything okay again. two simple words that mended a broken heart. two simple words that helped me move on with my life. "i'm sorry." it doesn't get any simpler than that and i can't remember the last time i felt this high on life.

went to the mall with carmen today. she talked me into getting a hair cut at 'visible changes'. consumer beware: do not go to this place! do not even walk on the same side of the mall. take the longest route possible to avoid it. the shampoo guy has my head in the shampoo bowl and has just rinsed the shampoo out. he then proceeds to tell me that if i want my hair conditioned, it will be an additional $3. now understand that $3 is not all that huge in the grand scheme of things, it's more the principle of the thing. i have never been to a salon that charged extra for conditioning. who doesn't condition their hair, i mean except for the guys that have virtually non-existent hair? after i got over the shock, i let him condition my hair. as i sat down in the chair to have my hair cut i was worried that the guy would cut one side of hair and then tell me that it would double the price to cut the other side. thankfully that did not happen. plus it did my hair good to get the dead off the ends. it was looking a bit on the shabby side.

after the haircut fiasco, i went with deuce down to waterloo. and of course i told myself that i didn't need any cds this time and what did i do? i bought 3. i bought a used live nina simone album, 'live at ronnie scott's'; dan reeder 'after death update' and robbers on high street 'tree city'. robbers on high street sound A LOT like spoon. i've only gotten through about half of it and i like it already. how rare is that? i hardly like anything the first time around. i bought dan reeder's cd because it had a song named 'food and pussy'. it's awesome. i can't wait to listen to the entire cd. it has something like 18 songs on it. and nina simone IS nina simone. she's amazing.

i hear a key lime mojito and leftover zen calling my name.
