great weekend!
poker night at mark&allie's on friday. completely off my game and i lost $10. deuce won it all but he definitely has the beginner's luck going. got to see nancy&guy for the first time since the rose bowl road trip. definitely good to see those folks. "your mom goes to college!" you just gotta love napoleon dynamite.
saturday was hang out & get drunk night with liz & carmo. i made the mistake of going to central market to get the food and ended up spending $60 on a small amount of food. WELL worth it in my book. played a little dirty-word-only scrabble. good times.
also had a pre-orientation at the culinary school on saturday. turns out that my stupid admissions counselor had the incorrect time for my classes. i thought it would be 6:30AM to 11:30, but the april class is actually 12-5PM and the may class is the early morning. dammit. but i think it'll actually work out okay as i was concerned that i might have trouble being up that early 5 days a week. i'm a morning person, it just takes me a long time to wake up. work was willing to let me work in the afternoons, so maybe they'll be okay with switching my hours to the morning. i certainly don't want to wait until may to start.
today was just flipping beautiful. awesome outside. i sat out under some trees and read. i started "ship of fools" by katherine anne porter. can't believe i haven't already read this one; it's really difficult to put down. i meant to go shopping at waterloo and book people but couldn't bear being inside more than i had to.
tonight didn't go so swell as i made peggy cry. it definitely wasn't my aim, but she did drink my $30 riesling that was a christmas gift. she was drunk (go figure!) and sarcastically said something about knowing better than to leave a bottle of wine in the fridge for too long. she ended up coming in later and throwing $30 at me and in between tears telling me i needed to label my things until i moved out. ouch. guess peggy's an angry drunk. i was just disappointed because i hadn't tried that particular riesling yet. geez. so igave her back the money but she'll hold a grudge FOREVER because she's peggy.
