Character: Ibuki
Series:
Kamen Rider Hibiki Age: 21
Canon:
It’s the end of the world as we know it. In this case, monsters called Makamou are to blame, and of course most people are none the wiser. Our unseen heroes are the Oni, a group of men (and a few women) who give up their normal lives to become super human musical monster fighters. Things are getting more difficult for the Oni as a huge monster apocalypse - headed by Orochi - is approaching. Hibiki, Todoroki and Ibuki, our heroic group of Oni, are left to fight off a seemingly endless stream of Makamou to try and seal Orochi to prevent the world from being destroyed.
Ibuki is dedicated to his job, he's been working all his life to be the best Oni he can be. That doesn't mean he's ready for everything, however - he still has some insecurities and moments of doubt. However, he's honest enough to see this and try to overcome it. He needs to look confident and capable as Ibuki is set to take over as head of the Oni someday. Outside of his work, Ibuki is indecisive and somewhat socially inept. Thankfully his cheerful demeanor and obliviousness makes it so that even when you yell at him he takes it with an adorably confused smile.
Sample Entry:
This must be the strangest vacation I've ever had. Yes, we fought off Orochi, and no, I didn't know what I was going to do after that. But what made the boss think I wanted to go to Disneyland of all places? I'm sure most people would be happy to go, but I don't remember ever wanting to see it myself. Maybe if I could have come with someone else, a date or a friend; but I never even got a chance to ask someone before the Boss was shoving tickets into my hand and pushing me out the door. It has been a few years since I actually took a vacation, I know, but that's no reason to be so forceful about it. Now I get here only to find out that Louisiana isn't a short drive from California and the theme park they gave me tickets for doesn't look like Disney at all.
I don't really have anything to compare it with, but I don't think this is how a theme park is really supposed to be. I guess it's in keeping with the odd location, but it seems like they've gone to a lot of trouble to make everything look so wild and dangerous. Even the ride I passed earlier on the lake looked like it was getting overgrown... is it possible for a lake to be overgrown? It's not a surprise no one was waiting to ride it; those mechanical tentacles looked like they meant business. Serious business. I haven't seen any food stalls either. Except for the one with the huge line back by the entrance that was advertising "Fresh Squeezed Brainade Lemonade - 5 cents". It really didn't taste that fresh to me, although the second glass was better.
At least the people running this place are friendly. Not even five minutes ago a whole group of them came up to me to say hello! They all looked so excited, and a couple of them were even trying to run despite missing a foot or a leg. It's really nice to see people overcoming adversity like that. I'm still not sure what they wanted, maybe to compliment me on my hair? They were definitely interested in my head. But I guess I didn't have what they were looking for. Oh well, I'm sure they have other people to greet.
Well look at that; they're back. And they brought gifts! A book on increasing your mental ability through meditation? Wow, thank you so much! This is so kind, I only wish I'd thought to bring something I could give you in return. You're right, I should be patient, an idea will grow on me.
