It's primary day in OR, which for most of us means, oh yeah, I put that in the mail a week ago and I hope I remembered to sign my envelope. I was one of those people who changed parties in order to vote in the presidential primary, so I actually got two ballots in the mail...tempting...but oh so illegal.
Oregon has been getting lots of democratic candidate attention, Chelsea Clinton shopped at a Fred Meyer in Springfield and it made the front page of the city/local section. So two nights ago I had this weird dream that I was accompanying Senator Clinton as she went door-to-door here in my neighborhood, something it would be remarkable if one of these top-tier candidates would do. But then I told her, hey, if you want votes, I'll take you where you could get votes, and suddenly we were on the coast road in my parents' neighborhood. I told her, the people out here have *never* had a presidential candidate come through. If you went door-to-door out here, I guarantee you votes. (Which is funny, because I suspect that a significant percentage of the population out there is registered Republican...but still...)
Just so glad that we're almost on the home stretch as far as this election goes. *Over it!*
