Dear Yuletide Author,
Hi! I'm looking forward to whatever it is we're matched up on, and hope I can give you some good ideas. Let's make beautiful stories together! Whichever of my fandoms you hail from, there's a couple of things that I flail over, no matter what. If any of this squicks you or you just find it deeply boring, ignore away. I mean that. I am more invested in everyone having fun than meeting picky criterion. But if you like having a framework to play in, here's some of my favorite things. Pick and choose as you wish.
Top of the list: I have never gotten over my teenage obsession with angst, misery, and doing terrible things to my most beloved characters. I'll be happy if you write me something full of cotton candy and cherubs, but I will keel over if in between those fluffy kittens and cupcakes oozes a river of despair. Happy endings, though, are awesome.
Secondly, I have no problem with pairings, and I really like romance, but I usually like romance within the context of a bigger plot. Like, totally have people making out, but having them doing so while leaping off the cliff to avoid the plague of locusts the bad guys unleashed (for ridiculous example). I am *especially* overjoyed by blossoming romances, people hooking up for the first time, and the thrill of tension/tension fulfilled. Porn is a-ok, though again, I like it within context. And as a personal squick, I do not really like play with body fluids of any sort (excepting blood; go figure.)
Third, I'm not a huge fan of AU's. No need to be super strict about researching canon, but I'd like it to be set in the world, even if you make crazy things happen in that world. The characters are secretly robots, fine and dandy. My Little Pony: (fandom) edition? Meh.
So for the fandom specific requests:
Orange is the New Black-- I am really interested in speculation as to Poussey's reasons for being in prison, and showing her friendship/reaction to Tastee's return would be great. Sophia and Janae are two other characters that we saw a fair amount of early in the season and less so towards the end; getting to check in with them again would be great.
His Dark Materials: What I crave is an answer to what happened to Mary and Will in their new life together. What happens with his mother and the murder? How do they avoid or resolve the situations with the police? How does Kirjava play in to things? What do Mary and Will do to make their way through the world and spread their message? One thing that I'd rather not see is Will's mother being terribly mistreated *or* cured. I'm not looking for a magical fix-it to her mental illness.
Kuragehime: I LOVE the nuns. All of them. I want to see more of them exploring their new found confidence, or geeking out together. Maybe travelling? Perhaps there are boys involved? ah, I don't know! If that doesn't tickle your fancy, oh god, the cliffhanger at the end of the season! I can't take it! Author, if you'd like to pick up from there, I'd be so very grateful.
Elfquest: I would die to see what would have become of Rayek and Ekuar if they made it to the "modern" age, and I have never been satisfied with how much screentime he and Venka got. Winnowill was not on the tag list so I make no specific requests regarding her, but I like Rayek wandering around as a cage for her . . . if trying to find a solution.
JLU: This is the only explicitly shippy fic I want: Shayera showing Wally what his constant flirting really gets him. Seduction, femdomme, Wally being out of his element and a little terrified, perhaps with some hurt/comfort thrown in. Now, if this sounds awful, I'd also be happy with them just having some madcap badass friendship adventures.
Changeling: I have no character requests here, just the question: what happens to the fae if the Apocalypse never came? A story set now, or the WoD equivalent, after Armageddon has sputtered out . . . that would be *aces*.
