I am in fact back form GenCon, having spent two days surrounded by geeks, nerds, dorks, and loonies of all shapes, colors, sizes (and smells). All in all . . . meh. Similar to last year's GenCon, except with a lot less money and lot more not losing money. I *did* have a fucking fantatsic time playing the games I did-- the guys from Impossible Dream rock my socks. I think Dread is now one of my favorite games EVAR. On the other hand, there was a whole lot of sitting around and then walking long distances to places, waiting some mor,e and then walking some more.
I think, if I go again next year, my enjoyment will be vastly bolstered by having a plan in advance, having money to spend, having a valid badge and having some means of providing for myself and not having to cling to people in order to not be terrified by the throngs of *people*. It would be nice to be able to go back to a hotel room when I want to.
And as usual the art room was throughly depressing, as in awesome, as in ego-shattering. Le sigh.
And now, I work. And unpack some more. OH EM GEE I AM SO TIRED OF MOVING/ASSOCIATED ACTIVITIES.
Oh . . . and the dealer's hall had a shocking lack of shinies. WTF.
