(no subject)
What a brilliant start to the day.
I'm only partially-awake ... wander into the bathroom, turning on the electric box for the shower as I go. Finish my business, go to step into the shower, and notice that the bathroom light isn't on. Huh. Must have blown without me noticing it, right?
Nope.
None of the light switches on the top floor are working. Well, okay, if one bulb blows it trips the entire floor, so I was kind of expecting that ... except usually when a bulb blows, you notice, y'know? Hmmmmm
Venture downstairs, flip the switch for the hallway and ... nothing.
Oh this does so not bode well.
As I'm making my way over to the phone, I notice a letter sitting on my desk.
"Attention homeowner -- important notice about electricity interruption"
Shit.
Yup, totally forgot that I would have no power today.
No shower. No washing machine. No lights. No kettle. No phone. No internet. (In case you're curious, one of my neighbours has an unsecured connection that I'm currently piggy-backing on...) Computer access only until my battery runs out (about 45 min from now).
Good thing I was planning on spending my day in town, eh?
Too bad I didn't remember this last night so I could have had my shower then ... I'm currently debating on the merits of a cold shower (bearing in mind that I'm trying to kick a nasty bug/cold at the minute).
