KY Lions Youth Camp

Yep, I survived another year at the Kentucky Lions Vision and Hearing Impaired Youth Camp, and came back looking forward to the next year. This camp was by far one of the most intersting. First off, we had the most number of kids ever, totaling at 83 kids, fifteen more than our previous biggest total. That made it kinda crazy, even though we had our normal counselor load, along with several new counselors, whiched rocked. David and his guidedog Gus returned too, along with his son and daughter, and that rocked. Almost an entire family there. Another thing that happened that wasn't so good was that lice was found in one of the girls' rooms, and one girl had lice on her head. This caused a lot of problems, and the counselors had to make sure all the kids got thorough showers to make sure none of them had lice. We also went to the Science Center in louisville too, and that rocked. We watched an IMAX film on dolphins, and that was cool.

Man, the funnest part of the week was torturing the kids in the pool. All of the younger counselors made a pact to back each other up, and it rocked to see it in action. None of us really felt bad because the kids loved it. As always, my favorite kid was back, except that he grew four inches and voice deepened. Man, he's no longer a little kid. I can't pick on him anymore. Oh well, I got him for one more year, so I'll make the most of it. We also had several new totally blind and deaf kids this year, which made up for a couple we lost last year to their final years.

Man, I love working with these kids. Having my own vision problems, I am able to attach to these kids, understanding their pain that some of them encounter. Maybe God is calling me into working with these kids and bringing Christ into the lives of those that don't know Him. As far as I know, there is no version of the Bible out in braille, which is how totally blind people read. Maybe I could start a project to begin that. I'll be praying about this, trying to learn whether God wants me in this field or if He has other plans for me.

Well, gotta return to Meijer tomorrow, a place I really don't like much. And back to going to the Vine and Real Life until it ends. With the Vine earlier now, I'm gonna have to get used to this, but I uges it will end ealrier, so that can be a good thing too. I love the Vine. I love praising God in any way, whether it be overloud music or a simple guitar or even just a couple people singing alone. Praising God is an awesome thing, and one of my biggest thrills everyday of my life.

Well, I gotta get some sleep for work tomorrow. More to come after that and the Vine. Here is a song I have listened to a lot the previous week, and it has really spoken to me. Read them and think them over. Let God speak to you.

Price For Love
by The Wedding

The lights go out in my corner of the world tonight
And so do the lights in your eyes
Yeah so did the lights in your eyes
Now I don’t want to preach at you,
I just care too much
To let you walk away from this

And He died, so never forget, forget His love
Yeah He died, to show us, the price you pay for love

I never said that this would be easy
In fact it’s the hardest thing that you will ever do
But don’t worry they will never capture you
You’ve already been set free from this

So right your wrongs and make your amends
We are running out of time
This is our song that we sing from the mountain
Can you hear it, can you hear it
This is our song that we sing to You
Can you hear me, can you hear me

And He died, so never forget, forget His love
Yeah He died, to show us, the price you pay for love
