Yeah!! Today rocked. After getting off work, Chris and I went down to Kristen's apartment to hang out with her. She cooked us dinner: pasta, chicken, salad's, and bread. Man, it was GOOD!!! Chris thenr ead from this book about a dog named Walter that constantly farted. It was a children's book, but I could see some parents getting offended by it. I thought it was hilarious. We were laughing the entire time he was reading. Apparently he took a class that talked about how you are supposed to read children's books to children or something like that. Man, that is just plain weird. But then again, it is bible college, so many things about them are weird.
We then went down to 4th Street Live, the first time for me and Kristen. We went up to get some ice cream that was sooooooo good. Mine had chocolate ice crean, fudge, peanut butter, and Reeses Cups in it. WOW. So bad for me, but tastes sooo good. We then went down to this bar that is known for its dueling pianos. Man, it was awesome. They knew so much music and played stuff from all over the place. We hung there for a while, taking it easy and having fun. We then went to Borders to wander around for a bit. We met a guy there from California and Chris asked him if anyone ever told him he looked like Rich Mullis, and he was like, "Who is Rich Mullins?" I was thinking, how don't you know him. Even if you never read anythinga bout him, most people know one of his songs, most like Awesome God, even if they never knew who it was by. We also discussed different religious books there, covering everything from Mormonism to C.S. Lewis. It was fun. We then wandered back over to the dueling pianos for a bit, but it had emptied out since it was after 10pm, so you had to be 21 to get in. The placed rocked, although the female bartenders in very revealing dress was kinda annoying at times. Kinda made me think of Hooters, even though I haven't been to one of those in forever. After that, we decided to head back, since Chris and Kristen are skydiving tomorrow. As much as I'd like tod o it, I had to work. Who knows, amybe I'll be able to go see Derek Webb tomorrow night. He used to play for Caedmon's Call, one of my favorite Christian bands.
Anydaygway, I better head to bed. Gotta work back in reciving tomorrow, so I'm in fora busy, physical day. Peace out y'all!
Take To The World
by Derek Webb
go in peace to love and to serve
let your ears ring long with what you’ve heard
and may the bread on your tongue
leave a trail of crumbs
to lead the hungry back to the place that you are from
(chorus)
and take to the world this love, hope and faith
take to the world this rare, relentless grace
and like the three in one
know you must become what you want to save
‘cause that’s still the way
He takes to the world
go, and go far
take light deep in the dark
believe what’s true
He uses all, even you
(chorus)
