Kaiba was of course informed, his security staff would be out of a job if they failed to pass the information on to their employer. And as soon as Pegasus had been spotted entering the building, Kaiba had been informed. As such he had Isono at his side, as much as anything as a foil to Croquet. They could glare at each other and enjoy themselves that way. he had just finished what he was doing, knowing that trying to get anything done when Pegasus was around was utterly futile, when his visitor breezed in.

"Date?" he asked, looking up at Pegasus scathingly.

The older man knew better than to take offence to such things by now. He sat back in his chair, gesturing to the one on the opposite side of the desk as he did. He ignored the foolishness for now.

"So to what honour do I owe this visit?"

Croquet fell into his usual pattern of keeping all the exits in view and staring down Kaibas help while his Master prattled on as if the younger CEO wasn't trying to glare a hole through him.

"Oh yes, you remember when I tweeted about coming to Domino this week and you said that you'd like to take me out? So of course here I am, and there's a lovely new Italian place that I've been just dying to try. It's time for your lunch break by now, isen't it Kaiba dear?"

Pegasus was pretty sure that when Kaiba said 'Good, I can finally take you out." He was actually using his dry sarcastic wit to threaten his life, but only a fool would pass up a chance for good lasagna.

He smiled sunnily and leaned both hands on Kaibas desk so that he could loom over him with his almost threateningly bright attitude.

"I'm going to get you out of this office today whether you like it or not."

Kaiba couldn't help the irritated twitch as Pegasus pointed out what he had said, and knew damn well that the older man had deliberately twisted that just to vex him. So he took a deep breath, and tried to keep his temper.

"You do realise I do not have time for this nonsense. You're here for a reason, I would prefer you to get to it." he stated bluntly.

Though Pegasus of course was not going to take no for an answer.

"If I give you an hour for lunch, will that satisfy you?"

He knew that if he dug his heels in too hard, Pegasus would make the rest of the day an utter write off.

"Now that's the spirit! An hour will be a good start!"

Pegasus declared and started heading back towards the door like the whirlwind he was.

"Come on now, don't dawdle Kaiba-boi. I've made reservations for twelve and it's already half past."

He waved a hand at him as if he expected him to jump just like one of his servants. Croquet for his part was smart enough to already be moving ahead to hold the door.

"I do actually have something for you today, but it's something you'll have to earn with good behavior whilst we're out."

Pegasus sang at him and waved a finger as he waited for him to catch up.

Kaiba resisted the urge to slam his head into the desk repeatedly to knock himself out. That way he had the headache now, not later. As Pegasus and Croquet moved, he and Isono shared a look, seeing that they both agreed that Pegasus was in a particularly insufferable mood today. It was going to take ll his patience to get through this without genuinely trying to kill him.

He rose slowly, grabbing his white trench coat, inwardly already counting to ten. He and Isono followed somewhat reluctantly, he telling the secretary to take messages for all his calls and to not expect him back any time soon. This was Pegasus after all. This could take all day.

"My, what a grumpy face Mr. Kaiba. One would almost think you didn't enjoy my company, but I do know that's not so."

Pegasus was awaiting him at the elevator while it made the climb back up to meet them. He put on a thoughtful face for a moment and pretended to think on reasons why Kaiba could possibly be so put out today, aside from seeing him of course.

"Hmmmm, perhaps you didn't get enough sleep? Too much work piling up at the office? But then, you're always working, there couldn't be that much to do around here since you're always at it...I know, maybe you just have an aversion to going outside! You don't sparkle, do you?"

Pegasus asked him with a straight face as he adjusted the lace of one cuff in an offhanded manner. Because naturally it was an everyday part of a conversation to him.

As he joined Pegasus at the elevator, trench coat now on his back. Kaiba had just about got himself mentally prepared for spending time with Pegasus. He had found he needed a certain state of mind to deal with the older man without trying to commit homicide.

"I'm fine, I had things to do this afternoon. But they can wait." Thankfully.

Best to get this over as quickly as Pegasus would allow.

"And I would appreciate not being compared to Edward Cullen thank you very much."

"Well I'm sure somewhere there are fangirls doing just that."

Pegasus smirked at him and then stepped into the now waiting lift.

"You really do have quite a following you know, despite your less than genial personality. Perhaps it's all in your sense of style, those trench coats do command some attention of their own. This one for example, why it takes up about as much as a ladies ballgown."

He actually did have to take a few steps back when Kaiba had entered the elevator, the trailing coat of doom made sure that there was an even wider bubble of personal space around Kaiba than normal.

"The lining colour is also rather flashy. Girls do like pink, don't they?"

Pegasus was in a mood to tease the other man. He'd had a boring week so far and this was his one break in more meetings and negotiations and paperwork than he wanted to think about.

Kaiba rolled his eyes at the very thought. Ugh, fangirls. The very thought made him want to shudder. he stood in the elevator, arms folded across his chest, glaring mildly at his... companion. He was making a point about the coats. Why did he think they were so big? they made sure he got noticed in a room, and that people were kept at a suitable distance. Especially fangirls.
He huffed a little at Pegasus.

"You make no less of a statement in your dress sense than I do."

And that was true of course.

"And I think I have earned the right to be flashy." He muttered.

"Young people these days and their 'edgey' sense of style. I'll never understand how you can dress like something out of an 80's rock band and still manage to be taken seriously in a board meeting. If you weren't actually a teenager with age as an excuse I'm afraid you'd be considered more eccentric than I am in this country."

Pegasus knew he wasn't really one to talk, but his sense of style was rather classic and he did realize that no matter what he did, his height and pale complextion, not to mention his platinum silver hair, would always have him standing out in Japan no matter what he wore.

Kaiba gave Pegasus an arch look.

"I attend Board meetings in a suit, no different to anyone else. And I am taken seriously because of the results I bring in. I have earned the right to look how I choose in my off time." He pointed out.

Thankfully the lift had reached the ground floor and he swept out of it ahead of Pegasus. He knew he would keep pace and bug him happily anyway.

"Well according to you Mr Kaiba, you don't actually have any off time. And everyone is aware of the very flashy public image you have when you duel. Sometimes I half expect you to show up wearing a wrestlers mask or some other such accessory to further intimidate your opponents. But I suppose the gauntlets and leather pants are enough."

Pegasus caught up easily with his longer strides. He was in a chatty sort of mood today and he was actually getting more than one word responses from Kaiba for a change. The other must actually be in a good mood for once and he wasn't going to waste it.

"I say, do you want to take my limo or would you rather we walk to the restaurant? It's not all that far away and it is lovely weather for a stroll today."

They were almost across the main lobby and Pegasus didn't really want to go down into the gloomy depths of the Kaiba Corp parking garage if Kaiba insisted on taking one of his own vehicles. It was scary down there!

Kaiba briefly pinched the bridge of his nose, praying to Kami-sama for strength to get through an hour with a chatty Pegasus, maybe more even. Though the question was somewhat valid. In a car he was in an enclosed space with him. Perhaps in the open he would be better able to fight the urge to throttle Pegasus.

"We may as well walk. Then at least it doesn't look like you are attempting to kidnap me." He snarked a little.

Isono shot Croquet a warning look, the two following their masters pretty much side by side, almost daring him to try something.

Croquet would have preferred they took Pegasus limo, it was easier to keep his master from wandering off that way. He glared back at Isono and kept his usual stalwart pace ( ... )

Kaiba looked over his shoulder for a moment, watching their two servants glaring at each other. At least they were enjoying themselves. He bit back the growl as Pegasus slapped him on the shoulder, being all too familiar for his tastes, and Japanese norms. he just about managed to tune out the prattle, having developed the ability to pick out when something important was being said amidst the chatty drivel, but not have to pay attention to it properly or it would melt his brain till it leaked out of his ears ( ... )

"Yes, yes, no time for fun, as usual. We'll just cut through the park there, it's very pretty this time of year. Oh look, they've planted peonies!"

Pegasus wasn't going to let Kaibas snappy attitude get him down. He was already delving through the crowds at the crosswalk to get to the flower edged pathways of the tiny bit of green space wedged between two city blocks.

Croquet simply sighed a grating sigh into his moustache and went after him. It was somewhat easy to find Pegasus in a crowd.
