To participate i really have to submit 8 icons ? if i just want to participate on challenge 1 or just 2 i can't only participate with 4 icons??

You don't have to submit 8 icons. It's just upto a total of 8. You can submit just 1 or 2 if you'd like. :) We'd love to see you participate with us.
