alright. so i guess i shall update, now that i have something worthy of saying.
a few weeks ago i had the good fortune to see jay clifford and johnny perform as an opener for howie day. for those of you who don't know who they are, that is the lead singer/guitarist and upright bass player of jump, little children. it was really exciting for me because i love their music and was surprised to see them there that night, as they were really only standing in for the original opener, who got sick. that's when i found out that they're doing their 'last hoorah' tour...and are planning on disbanding after this tour. i kind of made myself a promise that my birthday present to myself would be a ticket to the atlanta show.
no one would go with me, so i didn't go.
then i started debating whether or not i should try to make the athens show. tickets were fifteen dollars, which would leave me with seven dollars to my name. i don't like not having money, it scares me. if something were to happen, i'd be screwed. plus- is a concert really worth it? and to go to athens, spend all the time that i should spend on calculus and an english paper going to a stupid concert?
but then i thought "man, fuck that." and went to the athens show by myself while all my friends went to sufjan stevens.
it was the most amazing concert i've ever been to.
when was the last time you went to a concert where the headlining band played for almost three hours? including four encores?
the last time you went to a concert where there was no pot, about three cigarettes, and very few drunkards?
the last time you saw a man with a hot pink electric fiddle?
the last time you sang EVERY SONG at a concert?
the last time you were six feet from the stage, close enough to see the cello strings vibrate?
yeah. it was that amazing.
and i have seven dollars to my name and a paper due tomorrow.
but man, fuck that.
it was worth it.
also: i ain't sayin' she a gold-digga
