First Full Day back in F-rick
I got a lot done today.
I woke up and early and went into work with my DAd so I could get the car from Tommy and run errands.
I bought 2 packs of cigarettes to send to my friend Craig, in Prague. Then I bought some packaging stuff and some lame postcards that advertise WONDERFUL Frederick, MD. I filled one out, put the cigarettes in the bubble mailer, and then went to the post office. Waited for about 15 minutes because they took their sweet ass time opening up the damned thing. Got that mailed off.
After that, I was going to head back to the house and do some laundry, only to find that when I got back to the house... I didn't have a key! So I drove back out to the shop, got Dad's key and then came home. Did a little bit of laundry - took a shower (finally), and headed out to run some more errands. I grabbed some lunch first, and then got a haircut because my split ends were atrocious. Not cutting your hair in 4 months will do that.
I got a call from my bestest best friend Elizabeth, and we caught up on old times. It was a lot of fun - so I'm glad I get to talk to her now that I'm back in the states. She's planning a visit, hopefully!
Let's see... after that it was off to hunt for jobs:
#1 First place I went was Record and Tape Traders - but they didn't have any applications left, so they said to come back later in the week.
#2 Wonder Book and Video. They sell and buy used and new cds, books, videos, etc. They need a morning person, and since I'm interested in working full time this summer - that'd be perfect :)
#3 FYE. The music store place. The dude who told me about applying was all hardcore looking, and he flirted with me a little bit - so that might be a fun job to get.
#4 Hot Topic. Yeah yeah yeah. Listen, at least I KNOW I wouldn't have to worry about any facial piercing policies.
#5 Spencer's. Again, no facial piercing policy - and a lot of their stuff is just fun!
#6 Home Depot. Well... I wanted to break the gender mold... and I like hardware. It's like... fun and stuff. Plus - I could totally get discounts for my dad and whatever. That would make my family very happyyy
#7 Borders. They're apparently only hiring at the cafe, but that's cool. I figured they'd be cool with piercings, too.
#8 Michaels. DISCOUNTS ON SCRAP BOOKING STUFF!! WOO WOO! So yeah. I like ARts and crafts :D
So, I've got several applications to fill out, both paper and online.
Covering all my bases, and hopefully someone will offer me like... $8 an hour. That's me aiming high. *crosses fingers*
After all that, got some gas in the car, picked my bro up at work, and now I'm going to do some more laundry and throw some more shit away. It's time to CLEAN OUT MY CLOSET! *blood curdling scream*
I shall let y'all know how the job search goes as soon as I get some interviews and shit.
I even managed to pick up a brochure about yoga and pilates classes at the wellness center. I'm on a ROLL!
