somebody (jen!) flagged me for not posting on livejournal in about 40 weeks.....that's almost a year. that's a long time. so while i'm sitting here getting ready for work (or not getting ready as the case may be), i thought i'd give a brief breakdown of my whereabouts for the past 40 weeks for anyone who may not know, though i think the majority of people who would read this already do.

so i left cambridge and went to stay in various homes (jim's grandma's, uncle's, etc) for the few weeks before then and the time that i left for florida. in the beginning of may? june? not may....graduated in may..... uh june. yes, that's it. june. that's when i left new england and started my trek. my first stop was in jersey to pick up my friend laura. i got the grand tour of piscataway and drove by rutgers. stayed the night, left the next morning. stopped in virginia where we again stayed the night at my uncle's house. got the tour of alexandria complete with a fun filled visit to an irish pub. left the next morning and drove straight to merritt island where we crashed at my dad's/marycarol's. gave laura the grand tour of the space coast including ron jon's and titusville. she peached out and i kind of just chilled til my internship began. it sucked. i had to drive 90 miles a day. A DAY. never send your friends or family to tandem at west altamonte. in fact, if you can keep them out of long term care altogether, that'd be better. i'm a little nursing home jaded now. i'm sure there are good ones, but i bet truely great ones are the exception and probably cost about a kabillion dollars so only really wealthy people can go there.

MOVING ON.

did the internship thing. lived with su (best bff ever) the last half of it. got to catch a red sox game in tampa with my friend hans. not as fun as fenway, but still good times. okay so that fieldwork ended, about a week in between and then i was off to st pete so i could do my second internship in tampa. had fun, hung out with some folks (jonathan!) i hadn't seen in ages and learned SO SO SO SO MUCH. realized i love kids to pieces and think i made the right career choice. did that for about 10 of 12 weeks before my supervisor in tampa gave birth, had to finish at a different site which was okay because that therapist did aqua therapy so i got to see that. it was pretty fun. so that ended. they offered me a job. i was totally in love with the place and the pay and benefits could not be argued with, so i took it. for the next month.5 i tried like the dickens to get my temp license so i could actually start working. took forever. so annoying. luckily, and i think i mentioned this before, i have the best bff EVER and she let me live with her AGAIN. it's great to have people in your life you can count on. so i finally got the license, moved to tampa, have a cute apartment, got some furniture, started my job, took my national exam 4 days ago (i find out my score on the 26th!) and i get my first paycheck as an occupational therapist TODAY. it's only for 3 days, but still.

now you know.
knowledge is power.

do you dig it?
