Although technically not over, the Weekend of David is basically in the book. Let me be the first (or second, third, etc) to say that it was an incredible time. Wow. I've gotta hand it to the people i spent it with. They really kicked it in to high gear and powered through.
Thursday was the official start of the weekend. I actually skipped english and got a head start by watching Garden State with Kara (fellow English classmate, and the reason I know what Catawampus is). Garden State is a great movie, and I really dont think I'll ever get tired of it. After the movie, Kara, Heather, and yours truly headed down to Chili's for some good food. And man was it good. I dont know if food is actually good anymore or just so much better in comparison to dining hall food. We got back to the dorm just in time to watch the OC, and boy was it a good one. But seriously, how lame was it that "Zach's secret" turned out to be 'that whole sex before marriage thing'?!!!!? UGH i wanted to rip my ears off just so I wouldnt be able to hear things that are that disappointing ever again. Around 8 we started off the drinking part of the WOD. By 9:30 we were pretty hammered :\. We were all kind of disappointed in ourselves that it wasn't anywhere close to midnight and we were all feeling it. But oh well, life goes on right? I hate to admit it, but there are huge gaps of time missing from this night that I cant really put together, and the events that I do remember are probably not sequential...so bare with me here as I just list things I remember: Converse shoes picture, Beer, Playing guitar, stealing beer, Coffee cups stolen from Cake Mix's room, PIZZA, Susie going ape shit on 408, everclear, Orange juice, vodka, shots of rum, beer.
Friday morning I woke up with a strange woman lying next to me...kidding, but seriously it was probably a possibility cause MAN WAS I THIRSTY and hungover. I had way too much to drink the night before and my pounding headache was doing a nice job of reminding me. Oh well, no pain no gain right (not sure if this actually applies to alcohol related events). Anyways, after sitting around for a while doing nothing, Boeker called me to tell me that him and Katie were almost to San Marcos. So I did the only logical thing there was to do, and asked Heather if she wanted to play some Mario Kart. She did and so we did. She was really off her game on this day, but I guess thats not really important. Travis called while on Rainbow Road and insisted that I pick him up. Seriously, who does that? I went and picked his lame ass up and we went grocery shopping for some WOD essentials (i.e. Drinks, snacks, a sweet pitcher for koolaid and toilet paper....toilet paper isnt actually a WOD essential, but we still needed it). We proceeded to hit up the liquor store and then on to Mamacita's for some dinner. It was good, but maybe eating THAT much food was not such a great idea. We all had to take a breather before we could start drinking. In the meantime we whipped up an intense batch of jell-o shots (a new crowd favorite) and waited for Kara's friends to arrive. When they got there it was on like donkey kong (do people still say that?). We started the night off right with a nice game of Kings, which has ruined my playing cards. The game of kings really didnt go as well as it usually does and proved to be too complicated with other distractions. Then Alex and Laura were "freaking out of here". So here we go again with the events that arent so clear and definately not in order: bathroom floor, bathroom floor, bathroom floor, jell-o shots, red bull and vodka, I think Heather needs a drink, I think Heather needs a drink, I think Heather needs a drink, I think Heather is standing in a spilt shot of rum on top of the table, breakfast at tiffany's (remember the Bellheim), Kara falls off bed, apparently i ate some quesadillas, and the girls gave us a nice dance. Wow.
Saturday morning, I woke up to my phone ringing. I took it off the charger hoping that the vibrate would kick in. It did not. The phone continued to ring. I put it under my pillow hoping I wouldnt hear it. I did. I answered it to hear Alex's soft spoken voice on the other line. He wanted to say a few things about their early departure from the party. After talking to Alex, I finally got up and got a shower. After the shower I found Kara's shoes(and socks), and jacket. I took it over to the girls place to find that they had already been up since 10 and eaten at chili's. I felt like a slacker. i went back over to my room and started cleaning when I then found 2 of their plates. I went back over to drop these items off. I came back to immediately find Heather's cube, so I went back out the door and to their room. When I got over there, Kara had my blanket which she took with her when she left (probably was cold from lack of shoes and jacket). I sat down at my computer to do what I do best (facebook), when I looked on my desk to see Kara's earrings. So I, walked out the door, went next door and returned them. While nextdoor I recommended that we go to the movies. The idea was a hit! Me, Boeker and Katie then went to Jason's Deli to fill our stomachs. While we were there, we witnessed what may be the most random thing ever. A FREAKING LIVE CHICKEN WALKED RIGHT BY OUR TABLE. Tell me you see that every day and I will punch you right in the nose. The chicken had literally just crossed the road and was right outside the window. Amazing. So why did the chicken cross the road? That's right, to go to Jason's Deli. After the astonishment of that wore off we headed back to the dorm. I checked my mail...2 PACKAGES. First was the shirt from Vintage Vantage "I have reservations", second was the Eniac CD in a hand decorated envelope with a practical love letter from lead singer to me (i'm like their fan, not number one, THE one). We then went to see Hitch. hilarious. great. awesome. There was a guy sitting behind me and Kara that was hacking up phlegm the ENTIRE time and it was still great. Kevin James, you sir are hilarious. After that we headed back to good ol' San Jac and watched the comic stylings of Mitch Hedberg and Dane Cook. Everyone was kind of worn out tonight. It happens. Thanks for reading, and dont forget you should never share your toothbrush with others.
Love always,
David K. Graham
