Character: Ryuguu Rena
Series: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Character Age: Never stated, but looks 14-15
Canon: Higurashi takes place in the rural village of Hinamizawa. It's a nice pretty place to live, with picturesque views and a strong sense of community. Then again, there are the annual brutal murders, the rumors of a god's curse, and the fact that the local kids are just a tad psychotic.

Rena is a sweet, cheerful girl who spends most of her time hanging out with her friends at their local game club. She's surprisingly competitive and determined when playing, especially if something cute is on the line. Rena likes cute things so much, in fact, that she often states that she'd love to take "it" home, whether "it" is a little girl in cat ears or a random scarecrow she found in a field. Rena's got another side to her, though-- anyone who pushes her too far might just find themselves facing down one very angry girl with a cleaver.

Note: "Punishment Games" are tasks that the kids in canon often give to the losers of the various games they play.

Sample Post:

. . . Oh, darn it! I just lost the game.

And I was doing so well, too! I was positive that the culprit was The Loudspeaker, in The Mess Hall, with the Zombie Arm. Clue: Zombie Camp Edition is a lot harder than I thought! I think that's partly because it's different from the version I'm used to-- the box we have at our club has "The Wrench" instead of "The Heart-Wrenching UST" and doesn't say that it's based on a true story in big pink letters on the front. Um, it isn't really, is it?

Ah, but the fact that I've never seen this version isn't the only reason I lost. The members of the local game club are also very skilled! When we played cards earlier, I almost didn't win. The man in the Gorilla costume is very difficult to read! And Zombie-san's losing his eye during the card game was an excellent distraction technique. I'll definitely have to suggest it to Mi-Chan for our Halloween costume game tournament! I hope that double-sided tape I lent him will help him put himself together again.

But all my new friend's skills weren't enough to keep me from trouncing them at Go Fish. They even let me suggest a punishment game as a reward for winning! Zombie-san got very into it-- I'm not sure how he found that maid costume so quickly, but it fit Gorilla-san like a glove~ It made him look soooo cute I just wanted to take him home with me ♥! I even had the perfect place in mind for him to live; the southeast corner of my bedroom, right between my book case and the fire-breathing squirrel I found in these woods earlier!

Speaking of home, I should really get going before it gets late. Zombie-san says that this area is full of traps, and I'd hate to encounter one in the dark! So I guess we only have time for one more game, and Gorilla-san has picked Scrabble! And since we didn't set a punishment game for clue, this one should be really good. How about a lap in that pretty lake over there? You know, in this light, it almost looks green! You can go first, Zombie-san!

. . . M-A-R-C-Y-S-O-B-O-L-D? Now that move can't be legal.
