Went to see Shutter Island this morning...great little psychological thriller. If you're into this genre I highly suggest it. ...Not for the kiddies though, of course, haha!
It's funny, sometimes, how your tastes change over the years I think. Aside from those I was brought to I didn't like thrillers or horrors much as a small child because I was rather easily spooked as a kid - the curse of an overactive imagination I suppose, haha! But now I enjoy thrillers almost more than any other genre. I like the twists and turns, I like being kept on my virtual toes and having to think about what I'm watching. They're also sometimes the only thing out there that forces you to not just watch something like a mindless zombie, haha!
Horrors are still hit-or-miss but that's mostly because I don't like watching mindless slaughter or slaughter for slaughter's sake...what's the point in that? I did, however, like Rob Zombie's version of Halloween because it sort of showed the creation of MIchael Myers as a killer and I look forward the new version of Nightmare on Elm Street whenever that comes out.
In other news, I got cleared for my two new article topics for the magazine I freelance for so...yay me! Now it's a matter of writing and editing them until they're just right to turn in. I'm not worried though. Oh, and instead of just being in Issue #9 I'm likely to be in Issue #8 and Issue #9 so that's pretty awesome. :D
I think that's all I feel like chatting about now so I'm going to go back to writing now if I can focus...later!
