summer shows
I'm nuts about Bat for Lashes' "Horse and I" and VHS or Beta's "You Got Me." Both are on my summer mix. If you're at the Pipettes show on Friday, I'll give you a copy.
Oh, Bat for Lashes will be in Minneapolis in late July and I am not missing it. Also in July, Tapes 'n Tapes' free show at the Taste of Minnesota (Sweet Martha's and cute tall-y bassist, yeah, I'll be there). Kings of Leon are at First Ave. in August.
My summer insomnia is setting in. Usually that means that I cook a lot. Instead last night I went through old mix tapes I've made for myself and listened to them. One of the most interesting was one I made on the sly at the warehouse circa 2002 when I should have been filing CDs. Every time I came across a song I wanted, I used the little boombox to tape it onto a blank cassette that I brought from home. I may post the tracklisting here later or in another post.
