my favourite somewhat-related-to-christmas songs are "fairy tale of new york" by the pogues, and of course "christmas card from a hooker in minneapolis" by tom waits. i don't have a lot of holiday spirit...

Aw, now I want to make a holiday mix. I'm going to take some of the songs you've listed here...lol, I've never heard that Tom Waits song, so out of curiosity, that'll be on there as well, I guess. :) Out of curiosity, do you have any suggestions for a quarter life crisis pick-me-up, hehe? just wondering since you read a lot, & I am in need of one... :)

I'll list my track listing(s) once I actually put them together (Thursday, I think).

What kind of quarter life crisis pick-me-up are you looking for? The truth is when I'm going through something, it's cookbooks and magazines if I'm doing any reading at all. I usually watch entire seasons of television on DVD to get a bit of distance, then spend a lot of time figuring shit out by writing in my journal.

I'm looking for one of those, help you find out what you want out of life, live what you love, kind of books. I may try some movies or some TV season DVDs as you suggested...
Thank you for the advice! :)
