I was just making a comment in response to the previous post, but it got long so I decided to make my own post.
I have really heavy periods and often go several months without one, making the next one extra heavy. I have talked to a gyno about it too.
:C I went to bed at about 10:30 and woke up 3 hours later when I felt "the gush." I flipped as gently as I could to my stomach and got up on my knees and off of the bed... It was dark so I didn't know what damage I'd already done to the bed (though I was sleeping on a towel just in case) and I knew that sitting up would definitely soak the bed. I started waddling to the bathroom and the super-plus tampon I had in had almost worked its way out of me and with every move I could feel the blood trickling down my legs, I just hoped it wasn't getting down to the carpet. Ran into the bathroom and as I threw down my panties (which were SOAKED as was the maxipad I had in there as backup) I felt the tampon plop out. T_______T
I started up the shower while I was on the can, hopped in and rinsed off. As I was coming out of the bathroom (which looked like a murder scene, but I wanted to get another tampon in... I am a very big girl so I have to lay back on the bed a little to get it in correctly) my sister was like "Having period problems?" I said yes and not to go in there until I came back to clean it. Of course, that sparked her curiosity. She wanted to know if I'd made a mess on the bed (she gave me her old one and the sheets that fit it) and I was like "Uhhhh I dunno!" she was all curious and wanted to look, but I was too embarrassed and said no. At least getting up the way I did, I only got a little blood on the side of the fitted sheet which I just scrubbed out with hydrogen peroxide.
I am super glad I have my computer in my room though and a plastic chair mat is on the floor just where I get out of bed, 'cause a puddle of blood was there. Huge one. Now back to the tampon that came out on its own... I had thought it plopped onto the floor and when I was on the toilet, I looked around but didn't see it . I was panicking that for some reason it had fallen out into the hall or something. However, when I got into the shower, I looked into the toilet and it was in there. Curious, I was able to grab the sting (I figured, why not since I was about to have a shower anyway) and pulled it up to look at it. OMG. I've had some
pretty massive clots before (some pics are now broken), but this one is the clear winner. I didn't get a pic of it, but the volume of it was about half of a soda can.
Why do I only bleed like this when I am at work or when I am sleeping? Seriously. When I got home from work I put on a fresh pad and tampon and was good for 5 hours. I changed the tampon right before bed just in case it was full, but when I pulled it out, there was nearly nothing on it. >_____<
I wish I didn't get a period. It isn't like it benefits me at all to be fertile.
