So, I got eight teeth removed this morning. 4 wisdom teeth, plus 4 premolars to make space for some orthodontic reshuffling. The premolars are pretty normal looking so I didn't include close-ups of them, but the wisdom teeth are pretty... interesting.
First, a group shot:

I hadn't been under before either, and i had the same fears as you, but it was ok. Like i mentioned above, i have a needle phobia so i nearly flipped out when they were setting up my IV. Then the put the thing over my nose and mouth for the fas and the doctor told me bad jokes until i passed out (after the third joke). The gas smelled nasty, but i concentrated on taking deep breaths.
It took a long time between waking up and not being groggy as hell. My entire mouth was completely frozen, so i was drooling bloody drool everywhere, and at first i was too out of it to even clean myself up. They didn't put in any gauze because it could probably get tangled on my braces. When i was more alert they gave me painkillers, and trying toswallow them was hard.
Apparently my face was super swollen, but it didn't look in a mirror until several hours later. It's still swollen about ten hours later, but not so bad. Sore, but tolerable (I've been taking a lot of pain killers, yay Tylenol 3!). I could go out if i had to, but i really don't want to.
The doc said i should be good to go to school on Monday, but i have my doubts since i tend to be slow to recover (i skipped school and work the evening/day after i got my braces on). But i do feel much better than i did, so it could happen.
I hope this helped!
