the damn thing won't go away
living in good old austin, texas, i've crossed paths with far too many cock-a-roaches for my taste. not only are they unpleasant by their own merits, but those fuckers bite, too, in case y'all didn't know.
here's a bite i ended up with on sunday. yes - sunday, and it's still this large and vivid in color. it doesn't hurt or anything, but it does itch a little bit if i think about it too much.

pretty gnarly, right? it really doesn't look too good, but it feels okay and the roach didn't break the skin as far as i could tell (no blood) so i shouldn't need to worry about it, right?
