unfortunately i have no pictures of my progress, but you can google earlobe keloid and get a sense of what i was working with
SO my ears used to be pierced twice, and my second holes were always getting gross and infected. i got them done at claire's when i was in middle school at my aunt's suggestion (bad decision obvs, but i didn't learn that till later), so all i got for aftercare was a container of cleaner and instructions to rub that on it while they healed.
so after a year of having them pierced, i get fed up with the constant nastiness and just took them out once and for all. this was also another bad decision, as it caused the infection to be sealed up in my lobe as the holes closed over- causing a tiny hypertrophic scar on one ear and a keloid on the other. it started as a little pea shaped, hard bump and morphed over the years into a grape sized lump on the backside of my lobe. not cute. it hurt randomly and made it difficult to sleep on my side, so several weeks ago i said "fuck it," and researched tying off methods of removal. not a very smart thing to do, but i wasn't going to pay $$$ for shots and the chance that it will eventually come back anyway.
i tied two pieces of embroidery floss around it and changed the strings every couple days, and washed/put ointment around the keloid just in case. it hurt at first, but eventually i barely noticed (unless something bumped it, namely my bf's face during sex once- causing it to ooze a little blood on his nose. somehow i convinced him it was a nosebleed, hahah). eventually the stub holding it on became smaller and smaller, and on the day i cut it off the keloid was a tiny, shriveled, hard black lump.
there was no open wound left over, just a bit of dry skin. hopefully this means it won't come back!
anyway, hope this wasn't boring or tl;dr!
