I am recovering from Borderline Personality Disorder and about a year ago I read somewhere that BPD sufferers don't feel physical pain. Well, we do but not as strongly as people without BPD. Today I stumbled upon evidence for this theory. See, in order to relax I take really hot baths. The physical sensation of hot water helps me take my mind off my emotional problems(though ultimately it will be a good idea to eliminate this way of coping, at this point I think it's one of the better ways I deal with stress). Before entering the bath I always check with my right foot in order to make sure it's not too hot and I usually do it near the faucet, out of which the hot water gushes. Today I noticed a nasty burn on my right toe which I probably got because I couldn't judge how hot the water coming out of the faucet actually was.
More lulz:
Couple of years ago, before I started therapy for BPD, I got so high I literally tripped in my room and bust my head open by hitting the door. My mom was studying to be a nurse at the time so I woke her up to ask if I had a concussion and if I had to go to the hospital, she said I was probably fine. The funny thing is that even though I was bleeding from my head I didn't feel any pain at the time either.
