From what I have gathered, this masquerade thing that is currently in planning sounds dreadfully unfair to those of us with obviously distinguishing features aside from our faces. All of you roundears can do things to hide yourselves, but us elves are...really out of luck in that department. We all have rather distinctive ears, different from person to person. For instance, both Erol's and mine curve up and back, but Erol's skin is darker, he is shorter, and has tattoos where I do not.
...Not to mention one of my hands is blue, and no matter how much scavenging I do I cannot find a long-sleeved shirt or a pair of gloves that will fit me. The people that lived here before--roundears, if the Scientists that came to the cookout are really survivors of this place--had rather different proportions than I fit into, apparently. Really, did none of your men have proper hips, or what? So while it does sound like fun, the attendance of my race would more or less defeat the purpose.
And before anyone even thinks about telling me to do something stupid like tying them back and then covering them up with a hood or something, I would like you all to know how much that would hurt. Try folding over one of your ears as far as you can and taping it that way sometime. Not pleasant, to say the least.
It does sound like fun, do not misunderstand me, but...again, if I attended it would really defeat the purpose.
Also...I have this terrible feeling we are getting too comfortable. Things are steady now, but they will not be forever. Perhaps not even for very long at all. Stay on your toes, everyone. Be careful.
...Oh, has anyone come up with a better name for the Clearing Team?

I hear Giovanni has been placed on the...hit list, as it were. Me and mine can take care of him if we have to, but I would really rather not gain a reputation here as everyone's hitman. I have been there before, and I would really rather not be put back in that place. If there is another way to deal with him, I would greatly appreciate hearing it. If not...I need to go find that shovel again.

If you have the time, I can give you some knifing lessons today. And you can borrow my shower afterward, if you like.
