The events occuring now will have lasting effects on over one billion people. The Pontifex Maximus is about to die. Aside from religion the Pontifex Maximus John Paul II is a great man, allways trying to help people regardless of which god the follow. He was the one man who was able to have an open dialouge with the people of the middle east. I fear that once he is lost, the new Pontifex Maximus will not have the ablity to mediate the conflict between Islam and Catholics. This Jihad will continue at least for a few more years.
