HERE TODAY
Back at work after a 5 day mini-vacation, and let me just say that was time well spent! No joke, every day I basically woke up late, played video games, drank heavily, and worked on Harbinger almost nonstop.
Speaking of which, Harbinger is really coming along, but I want to draft it as quickly as possible so that I don't lose the momentum I have going here. I'm not trying to reinvent the sci-fi wheel or anything, but I think it will be a solid sci-fi horror story, and that's just fine by me.
Punisher War Zone comes out on Friday!!! Probably go see it on Sunday to get the matinee price though. Everything I've seen of it so far suggests Ray Stevenson is going to kick serious as as Frank Castle, certainly moreso than Thomas fucking Jane, who was a huge disappointment in hindsight.
Need to decide what to read next after I finish Audacity of Hope, which has been a nice look into Obama's life and politics. If I have one complaint though, it's that he offers no real political solutions beyond advocating bipartisan compromises that, ideally, take the best elements of Republican and Democratic strategies and fuse them into something Better. Which is nice in theory, yes, but I was looking for more substance to his policies and ideas and the book came up a little short in those departments.
