Six Things I Want to Say:

1. C h r i s t m a s ,
by ways of tradition, brings me several new albums, and yet, i can't stop listening to Ryan and Kelsey's duet. All of Kelsey's music is amazing, but i listen to this one song a few times every day. I don't know what's wrong with me; i've been humming it for the past six months and now that i have a record of it i just listen to it over and over again. There's something indescribable about the way their voice and guitars overlap with each other. It's unlike anything i've ever heard before in my life, and i can't say that for very many things.

And i think if every suburban small town, like White Lake, Michigan, has it's own Ryan and Kelsey, we are missing out on the best music being made right now. The extraordinary amount of my favorite music that has come from my own town is ridiculous when i think about it now, and i'm pretty sure White Lake isn't the only place that has a steady output of great music in the world. I think i need to devote the rest of my life to driving around every suburban area in America, compiling all the high school/ college artists making great music and getting them heard. I'd be the next John Peel if i could pull something like that off.

2. A n d I n
speaking of great music, i finally found Howard Tate's "lost" album. You may or may not know that for the past year i've been searching frantically for the appropriately titled Get it While You Can, the seemingly unattainable soul record. The first place i went in every record store i stepped into was the Blues section (used) under 'T'. I've been searching LPs for ages trying to catch a glimpse of the maroon and blue packaging of 'The Legendary Verve Sessions' unsuccessfully and the past few months i've all but given up hope.

Yet just hours ago i listening to something i had just about shrugged off as myth. And where did i finally find it? The fucking internet. In my defense, it wasn't a major site by any means. It's an obscure soul record label called Hip-o Select, and no, searching for Howard Tate nor Get it While You Can will lead you to it, but there it is. The legendary verve sessions themselves, available for a mere $19.98 after i had actually considered paying a hundred on eBay.

So was it worth all the countless hours spent searching? Absolutely. In fact, after hearing "I Learned it All the Hard Way", i'm doubtful anyone else could possibly call themselves a "soul" singer.

3. I T h i n k
i have a crush on Sage, from Radio X.

4. I T h i n k
i have a crush on this girl as well. She is simply far too cute and i far too impressionable not to. And i'm down with pretty much anyone who says things like "you are way gifted in the aesthetic zone".

5. I P r o p o s e
a ban on the word "bitches". If i have to see one more god damned live journal entry that says "Add me, bitches", "Friends only, bitches", or any other stupid phrase that ends in "...,bitches" i am going to... well, i'll complain some more, that's for damn sure.

It could be said that LiveJournal is the problem, not the word bitches, but i'm still holding onto the illusion that somewhere, LiveJournal is being used for intelligent purposes.

6. I D r o v e
by a barn that had some faded red paint on it a couple days ago and immediately thought to myself "The Ballas! If only i had some my spray paint...". I then made the realization the Ballas do not exist, and sadly, i am not really a leading member of the Grove Street gang. This leads me to believe San Andreas has officially replaced Final Fantasy VII for the time being as my complete and total obsession of the moment. After being wrecked for days about Kitsch betraying team AVALANCHE, i couldn't give a shit about them anymore. The only thought running through my head now is "Grove St. 4-Life". That, and the rhythm of Ryan and Kelsey's duet, playing constantly in the back of my mind.
