I've been in Poland for a week, still got a week and a half left before going back to the UK. I'm not looking forward to that really, I want to stay here.
It's been a great week though. Last Monday we came here, walked, train, hung about Nottingham for two hours and bought a shirt for the wedding which I still needed, bus to airport, had Burgerking with watered down Coca Cola, plane, then Matthew picked us up... sleep. We were travelling for about 14 hours. The week ahead was cool but busy. Had to prepare a lot for the wedding, sleeping arrangements for folks, and I went out to buy... a tie.
I haven't worn a tie since I was about 14. I swore that once I didn't have to wear a tie at school, I'd never wear one again. But Caroline talked me into it and I must admit, I looked pretty darn good. After the wedding, I was already missing the suit. :D I love my tie though, out of about 200 on the rack in a sklep (shop), I only liked two. Another one I liked was red and would look brill with a full black suit and shirt. Merovingian for the win!
I've never been to a wedding before, this was the first time. I knew how the weddings in England worked so surprised how different a Polish wedding is. Don't English weddings finish in the evening? Well Polish ones don't. I went to bed about 2am, and Matthew and Maggie didn't finish until about 6am. Bloody hell. I was tired from doing crazy dancing and stuff though and my knee hurt from banging it twice the previous day, it was shattered by midnight and I couldn't do much else other than sit on my arse.
They had all the trimmings for the whole wedding, from the church, limo, meal, party, it was amazing. So many traditions in one day, and Caroline's grandparents had their 50th wedding anniversary a few days before so that was celebrated too. It went on a little too long for me though, hence why going to bed at 2am, but that still felt a couple of hours too long. I didn't drink any alcohol and I think the late nighters get by with booze.
Yesterday, the day after the wedding, we did do a proper 50th anniversary celebration and I did have two glasses of champagne. It's been a full fun packed weekend.
So now it's Monday. I'm sat here and there's tons of food, drinks and cake left. It's always best to have too much than too little, but bloody hell!
I don't know what the week ahead will bring but it'll be ace whatever we do. The weather says it'll be raining all week but it's ok so far today. Bit dull, but no wet. Unlike last week, the only time it stopped pissing it down was for the sunny wedding. :)
I have videos and photos to do when I get home, you'll have to wait though. :P Hope everyone in the UK is well and the weather is nice. I have photos of me in a suit... if it looks good to people, can someone give me a new job, I'll wear it all the time. :D
