A bit of writing
So last night I was at the monthly writers meetup group meeting.
Part of the meeting was to write for five minutes using a writing prompt. I was writing long hand, so it took a bit longer, but what follows is the result. (Well, not exactly, as this has gone through a slight edit to smooth out a few of the edges.
The prompt: Arcane.
I sat up.
Looking around.
They weren't here.
Right
Left
I couldn't see past the couch, but I didn't see them.
I leaned forward, falling onto my hands.
Learning to crawl had been a rough few weeks.
Getting up on my hands and knees, rocking, scooting.
Then finally...
Freedom!
I was mobile!
I crawled to the open side of the couch.
Blocked.
That damned gate was in the way.
No worries.
I could see past it and see that they were involved with HIM, the funny one, Brother.
It was my chance.
I crawled backward.
Reached under the couch
Mine
My secret.
Hidden.
My treat.
Into my mouth.
Fuzzy?
Blech!
I should have left it secret.
