Well, College Gameday just came on TV and I am so thankful that I am watching it in my own apartment on my couch. Last weekend, I was watching it from the comfort of a bed in the Emergency Room at Mercy Fairfield Hospital. I got really sick last week and had Amy take me in on Saturday morning. Long story short, I either got food poisoning or E. coli contamination. I had incredibly intense abdominal pains and was internally bleeding. After being told that I was not leaving the hospital and was likely never going to be the same again, the surgeon visited and told me to go home. The ER doc was doom and gloom (she thought Crohn's), but the surgeon said that my CAT scan wasn't impressive and sent me home with lots of pain meds.
I skipped our weekend marching band competition trip to Dayton and rested up all weekend. As far as the LSU game, it didn't happen as far as I am concerned. I was heavily medicated and whatever I may have seen on TV was a hallucination and definitely not an actual event. So, my LSU team is still undefeated.
After a few days of gimping around and being restricted to a liquid diet, I finally starting eating real food on Thursday. I am starting to get back to normal in all departments (let's just leave it at that).
Definitely a scary weekend.
Today, we are going to our last marching band competition of the year. I really hope the kids win this one. We always do four and have only won one. The band that edged us out at the second competition is returning to this show. We'll see what happens.
