Well, I've been pretty good lately about getting back into this whole working out thing. I'm going light lately and only doing stuff on the elliptical machine. I feel like a pussy, but I'm the only on there at 5:15am. I usually bring a book or some scores that I can study and it really helps pass the time. I feel like I'm doing two things for myself at the same time. It's a sweet deal.
Things are going well. Craig Kirchoff is coming to Lakota in two weeks to prepare Symphonic Winds for a clinic in which he will use the group for an OMEA conference clinic. One of the pieces we are preparing for his clinic is Holst 1. Greg told me to rehearse it since I know it better. He's a cool guy like that. I am lucky to be where I am in that case.
The webmaster of the band website put up a huge welcome to me. It feels really good to be so appreciated and welcomed at such a great program. What makes the place great are the people. Accolades fade, but people make lasting impressions. ("bee-da-daaa")
I just got raped by travelocity on a ticket to visit my folks in February, but it's worth it to see them. Leaving on a Friday and returning on a Monday are the killers since those are the big business travel days. We have a long weekend in the district. Good stuff.
Gas prices are still going down and Iraq is spiraling out of control. It's okay, though. Hillary Clinton will straighten our asses out. I have a feeling that she would be a good leader in that position. She seems to be more focused on building communities and strengthening people. My conservative side is flipping at seeing myself write this, but I truly feel this way. Hmmm.
