Closed Captioned for the Hearing Impared
Do you think there's anything more insulting to deaf people than closed captioning?

It pisses them off. I know it would piss me off.
Imagine this: You're deaf, you've been deaf since birth. You've never heard ANYTHING. Nothing at all, not even a ringing in your ear. Well then imagine that you're watching TV one night and during your favorite show this caption appears: "Rock Music Playing."
At that very moment you lose a piece of yourself, because you have NO IDEA what the FUCK ROCK MUSIC sounds like! You can comprehend words because you learned how to read somehow, but you've never been known to actual sound so you are totally lost. You will for a split second feel a bit insulted.
Now, pay attention to closed captioning sometime and tell me you wouldn't want to kill someone after watching TV for a few hours?
