What is this new place I'm supposed to call home?
I see skiers racing up a mountain
Apexed with hollow soundin'
praises of monetary Bliss
And I feel remiss in not wanting to brave that cold
So instead I hold
Onto my brown skin and shiver
What is this new place they want me to accept
As my own?
Here I'm known not by a name nor a face but a number
That adds to a slumber
Leaving us blind to the inequities so ubiquitous in this valley grown place.
We strive and save face.
We gay, lesbian, black, latin, asian, native, American rainbow
Let's put on our show!
Queer bash, Ritmo, that multicultured weekend
We get down and bend
Our knees in prostration
This institutional masturbation
White washes these faces.
Where are the places I CAN call home?
